My g-g-grandmother was a Carrol, Sarah Elizabeth. She carried the name 'Green' through on one of her children, Samuel Green Tyler. Sarah was born about 1844 but I have no information on her parents yet. The first time I find her in a census is 1860 and she already has 2 kids by then. That was in Bayboro Twp, Horry Co., SC. Does that sound familiar at all?
