Interesting possibilities. My wife's grandfather was James Patrick Carroll, of East Boston, MA. Me married Genevieve Gillespie in 1910. Genevieve's parents were John and Alice, and we understand they came to Boston via Saint Johns, New Brunswick. In fact, I understand one of her sisters, Gertrude, was born there.
James's parents were James Carroll and Mary Griffin. Ther are believed to have come to Boston around 1887.
