My gggrandmother was Sarah Lucinda Carroll b:1836 in Mississippi. Her parents were James Carroll and Elizabeth Wicker. I don't know where James and Elizabeth were married, but they married in 1834. The Mississippi link is weak, though, because Sarah's sister was born in Louisiana the following year and her two brothers were born in Arkansas in 1839 and 1840. James was born in North Carolina and Elizabeth in South Carolina. My guess is they were in MS for only a short time - in transit to their final home in Union County, AR. Nevertheless, they may have had relatives in Mississippi. Sarah's siblings were Mary Ann (Polly), John Charles and Enoch Hawkins. If any of these names sound familiar, let me know. Maybe my James had a sister who was your Charles' mother? You never know. I'd be happy to compare notes.
