My William Carrolls would be much older than yours, but could have come from the same family back a ways. Mine are:

1) William Tennessee Carroll, Sr. b. abt. 1772 in VA, married to Mary Moore.

2) William Tennessee Carroll, Jr. b. abt. 1803 in Lincoln Co. NC, married to Malinda Postell.

3) William Albert Carroll, b. 12/14/1830 in Macon Co. NC, married to (#1) Levinia Coleman, (#2) Francis Faircloth, (#3) Martha Crowder, (#4) Jennie Elizabeth Dobbs. He had children by all but Jennie Dobbs.

There are several possibilities of children of these three migrating somewhere and them having sons named William. I'm new at this and don't go beyond these generations yet.

William Sr. had a son, Daniel, who is buried in GA (age 84 at death), another son, Joseph, is buried in Ballard Co. KY (died at age 61), son Miles died in MO, and son Soloman disappeared after 1843.

William Jr. had a son, Daniel Whitfield Carroll, who has no further record after 1860 census (age 14 by then). Son Alfred died in Conroe TX in 1917 at age 75.

William Albert had two other sons Daniel Whitfield (named after uncle I suppose) and James (Jim)for whom there is no record. I assume maybe they stayed behind in Tennessee along with older sisters (all were adults by then)when William Albert moved to Texas and Oklahoma with third wife and family.

If any of this sounds familiar, e-mail me at scpetty00@yahoo.com
