My line of Carrolls seems plagued by past generations with lots of kids, few of whom married until their parents died, subsequently producing few descendants. The Charles Devine Carroll I'm attempting to trace had 1 sister, Martha Carroll (Campisi) of E. Hartford, CT, who was childless. His first cousin, my father Richard F. Carroll, Jr., was an only child. Charles' & Martha's father, Charles Arthur Carroll and my grandfather, Richard F. Carroll, Sr. were the only ones of the 8 offspring of Patrick & Ellen Devine Carroll to have children of their own. So, it's very possible that if Charles Devine Carroll died childless, that my brother, sister & I don't have any but very distant relations connected to Patrick & Ellen Devine Carroll who may have emigrated from Ireland alone, met here and married. Perhaps Patrick or Ellen had brothers or sisters here, or even a parents, but it's been very hard to trace their steps from Ireland. I think the closest relatives I'll find from that line will be those sharing the same great great grandparents. Any suggestions?
