May to too early to help you, but in mid-17th century Thady Carroll family lived at Balliknocan in the southwestern part of what was then Kings Co. -- near the River Shannon. The Carroll estate was confiscated by the English in 1655 after the end of the Irish rebellion (1649-1653), and the Carrols were exiled to the western counties. However, the Balliknocan estate was was later restored to the Carrolls (to Thady's son Tiegh Carroll) in mid 1660's after Charles II took the English throne.
