Hi Shane,
I think there might be a connection to the William Carroll I am trying to find.
He is the father of Homer Curtis Carroll who was born in Birmingham, Al in 1910. Homer's birth certificate says near McCalla. Homer had many brothers and sisters who died from the influenza in 1918. He lost his parents then also. They were William Carroll and Maudie Hyde.
An aunt raised him. Does this connect?
