My gg grandmother was Mary Idella Carrol/Carroll. She was married to John Michael Shoemaker. Mary was full blooded Indian. She was born in June 1858. Maybe mary and Rebecca were sisters? I have not been able to find any information on Mary's ancestors. Below is what I do have. It is also on the main Carroll Board. Notice that Mary has a daughter named Rebecca! Could have been named after your Rebecca? Fingers crossed!

I am looking for information on Mary Idella Carrol, who was a full blooded Indian, and her husband John Michael Shoemaker. John Michael Shoemaker was born 2-11-1852, he died 1-2-1935. Mary was born 1858. They lived around the Nashville, Tenn area, and later move to Belleville, Ill. I have also been told by older family members that they were living in Louisiana before coming to Tennessee, but this is unknown. John Michael Shoemaker and Mary Idella Carrol had the following children.
Leonard 12-10-1877
Samuel 1-20-1881
Nettie 2-8-1884
William J. 10-11-1886
James Leland 8-16-1887
Jasper 3-18-1889
Fannie 6-30-1891 (my great grandmother)
Perkin 10-14-1893
Rebecca 10-17-1895
Jack 10-17-1897
Mary Elizabeth 8-8-1900
Christine 9-22-1906
