MRS. ELIZABETH CARRITHERS, daughter of CALVIN and SARAH JOHNSON, was born in Sullivan County, Indiana, Dec. l, l833, and died at her home near Crown, April l4, l902, aged 69 years, 4 months and l4 days. She moved from Indiana to Decatur County, Iowa, in l853 where she has since resided. She was married to MR. STEPHEN CARRITHERS, June 5, l854. To them were born six children, of whom three are still living.
She united with the Presbyterian Church at the age of eighteen years and was a faithful and consistent member of that body. During the last two years she has been a very great sufferer, but has borne it all with utmost patience. She died in the faith which has sustained her in all her years of sickness and suffering.
The funeral occurred on Tuesday afternoon, conducted by her Pastor, Rev. W.H. Ilsley, the interment being by the side of her husband and near the grave of her father in the Johnson Cemetery.
