According to the book "William Beard of Nelson Co., Kentucky," by Frank Crowles, Jr., Adam Carrithers was was bondsman when Nancy married Charles Moore on 28 Nov 1828. It goes on to say that Adam Carrithers was her step-father. Nancy's mother, Elizabeth (Miller) Montgomery married Adam Carrithers after the death of her first husband (James Montgomery). "The marriage bond says this: "Consent of the guardian of Nancy, being represented by Adam Carrithers by a certificate from said guardian.""
