Kim, I strongly urge you to check out the Carothers, Caruthers, and Carruthers surname listings on GenForum. I think you might get some responses there. Two fellows (Glenn Carruthers and Tommy Carothers) are doing a great deal of work on these lines and think all variations on the spelling trace back to the same ancestors. I have a James Carruthers married born 12 Sep 1730 in Letterkenny, Ireland (his father was from Rammerscales, Paisley, Scotland) who is married to a Catherine Potter of Sewickley, PA. Their children include: Martha, Jane, Elizabeth, John, James, and Samuel. I don't know don't know if there is any connection. Tina Adams
