My Carrion lineage is most recently from Puerto Rico/ My grandmother's family came from the Canary Islands, however the Carrion name originates in the area of Carrion de los Condes in Palencia, Spain. The Carrion name is very respected in Spain and in Puerto Rico. I know my grandmother's parents were land owners at a time before the U.S. occupation of Puerto Rico in 1898. It sounds as if the folks you are researching may be either directly from Spain to the New World or perhaps, from Spain to Mexico to the U.S.
