Hi Jose:

My great-grandmother was Francisco Carrillo born in 1843 and died in the mid 1930's. She was from Hujecar, Jalisco which isn't too far from your city you mentioned.

You did not mention the time-frame you are researching?
Do you have a family history center (FHC) near your home? If so go to familysearch.org; then go to search catalog and put in Amatlan de las Canas. I just did search and they have films Parrish records from 1728-1960, civil registrations from 1889-1998; census records for 1930. When you visit a Family history center, you can order a film for under $5.00 and view parrish records etc. If your family was born before 1900 you can even possibly view them online. If so, go into the familysearch.org and go to the IGI and put in the surname, state etc...and it's possible you will luck out. I have gone back on the Carrillo line at least four generations. The problem I'm having now is going forward from 1900-1930 time-frame to present.

Good-luck

Carol Muro-Turner
