Thanks for replying to my post!! The Hugh CARRIGAN that is found in Maury Co., TN in the 1840 FC is 20-30, and is living with a woman 20-30 and 2 little girls under 5. He appears to pay taxes in both 1840 and 1841 in Maury Co.
The James CARRIGAN I have found appears on the tax roll in 1843 and 1854-55. He could be in the years inbetween, but I was unable to locate them on the microfilm. They were supposed to be there--but they wern't!! He doesn't appear on the rolls prior to that or from 1856-1870. A James CARRIGAN is found on the 1850 FC for Maury Co. along with a Jane-age 20, "No Name" female-age 6, and "No Name" male-age 8/12. This James was born in TN
Could either of these two men be from your husbands line?
I can be contacted at gkcarrigan@aol.com
