I have been working very hard these past months in order to identify the father and mother of the Basile Carrière , who was maried to Adéline( Aurélie, the same person, two giving names were given when baptise) Filteau. I have found the missing link , in order to make the ascendance or family tree of the "Carrière " starting from my grand-mother Maria , maried to Jean-Dosithé Chéné, in Hull, Québec. From this mariage was issued my father Jacques Chéné. That where it all begin , the search or the father and mother of Basile Carrière , the father of Maria Carrière. So with out a doubt , and informations were verified , with the census of year 1851, in Québec, Canada was found the following couple with there 9 children !!
Joseph Jammes dit " Carrière " ( 42 years old) maried to Angélique Poudriette (36 years old ) ( Poudret )
along with 9 children. They were maried the January the 14th in 1833, in the parish of St-Benoit , Comté Deux-Montagnes, Montréal, Québec. The father and mother of Joseph "Jammes " dit Carrière are; Hyacinthe-Thomas Carrière maried to Charlotte Legault dit Deslauriers, the 8th of January 1770, Pointe-Claire Montréal, Québec.
In order starting with the oldest;
Joseph, 14 years old, Sophie, 12 years old, Martine, 11 years old, Emilie, 8 years old, Seraphin (ne ?), 7 years old, Octavie, 5 years old, Delphine, 4 years old, Eustache,
2 years old, Basile, 1 year old, ( he was the one who maried Adéline Filteau).
Also , this mariage of Octavie maried to Napoléon Lalonde, around 1872, Martine maried to Honoré Laframboise around 1864, all these informations from census of 1881.
I hope these information writen above will indeed help you and others searchers , to create the ascendance on you " Carrière " side and if ever you feel commenting the following email, please do your very welcome, and again all information were checked and verified at the Pavillon Casault, of the Laval University of Québec, section Les Archives du Québec .
Your's truly , Hubert-Michel Chéné.
