Dear Susan,
I can certainly give you some data on Michel Carriere and Juliene Marcantel and I descend from their daughter Ludivine Modeste. My data comes primarily from Father Donald Hebert's "Southwest Louisiana Records" which in turn comes from church and court house records. Volume 2 of the 33 volume set pretty much tells the story.
But there is more. Michel and Juliene's marriage is long after the birth of their children. I spoke over the telephone with a woman in Jennings, LA who explained how this happened; it was not an error in the book.
