Hi C.J.:

What I have is a marriage between the daughter of Green Carrier, whose name was Rebecca and a Benjamin Raynor from Long Island, NY. Because she seems to have been born before Green's marriage with Hannah Lewis, he might have been married before. My guess would be that when Green left for Canada, Rebecca stayed behind, perhaps with relatives or apprenticed out and he left with his wife and apparently two young children. Rebecca would have been thirteen at that point. I'll check here to see if any children are christened in Hebron or Colchester for Green and if they aren't, it is quite possible that he remained on Long Island until he emmigrated. It would probably be worth looking into the land held for Green and finding out what happened to it. Did it go to his children, or revert to the county in some fashion? I'll let you know if I find anything.
