This line has been driving me crazy too.It looks like Green Carrier may have been a Loyalist who went to Canada and then return to New York tri-state area.
According to a Raynor genealogist, Rebecca Carrier was the daughter of Green Carrier. She married Benjamin Raynor5 (Joel4, Benjamin3).
Phebe Raynor6 m. Daniel Raynor6 in 1815 . They lived on Nassau Road in present day hamlet of Roosevelt (an area previously known as Greenwich Point), Long Island. In the 1800s.people living in the "Greenwich Point" area were listed as being residents Freeportor Hempstead.
(# 5-201 on Bob Raynor's website)
Phebe Raynor is listed as a sister of Hewlett Raynor.
Brooklyn Eagle news article written in the 1890s mentions an old family cemetery located on the 50 acre farm of Hewlett Raynor. It also says he was the son of Vandewater Raynor. The cemetery no longer exists and I have been unable to find out what happened to the bodies of the people who were buried there.
After the Revolutionary War, the township of Hempstead, (Queens County), split into Hempstead and North Hempstead. About 1900, both Hempstead & North Hempstead split from Queens County and formed a new county called Nassau County.
Huntingtonis part of Suffolk County, located on the Nassau Suffolk County borderline. Huntington South is now known as the township of Babylon.
