Bev: I have been told that those are both typical of french-canadiens of that time . My Gr Grandfather was of same time period , and was both smallin stature and dark eyed . Of course , he married a robust Irish Woman , and the rest of us since then have been tall and large boned . I also have a Carrier in my family from the Bellechasse , Quebec area - Marie Luce Carrier married 20Oct 1848 to Andre Fortin.
