According to an article in 'Families and History of Sullivan Co, TN" Vol I 1779-1992 Article # 750 submitted by Dawn Crumley Alvarez of Santa Ana, CA. Nancy Elizabeth who married John C. Crumley was the d/o of Jonathon and Abigail Glover Carrier.John and Nancy Elizabeth's 6th child Nancy Jane was my gggrandmother who married Elbert Watson. Their daughter Laura married my Gr Grandfather Thomas Andrew Carrier( who was also descended from Jonathon and Abigail. Ihaven't found proof positive that Nancy Elizabeth who married John Crumley was the Nancy Elizabeth Daughter of Jonathon & Abigail though she is the onlyNancy Elizabeth Carrier I can find in the area at that time. As far as I know John Jr and Mary Morrell did not have a daughter named Nancy. Their son Thomas married Nancy Hatcher and left for Kentucky about the same time as Nancy Elizabeth Carrier married John Crumley so he didn't have a daughter of the marrying age.If Nancy Elizabeth had a cousin or aunt in Sullivan Co at that time I haven't found her.The Crumley and Shipley Cemeteries( where the Carrier's, Glovers, Morrells, Hinkles, Hatchers,Berrys and Crumley's etc. are buried) in the Hickory Tree community of Sullivan county are within a stone's throw of each other, and support everything I believe to be true about these family relationships. The tax records show that John Crumley was neighbor of Jonathon & ABigail and their children. Then there is the old rumor in our family that Laura Watson wife of Thomas Andrew Carrier was his cousin. If Nancy Elizabeth was the d/o Jonathon and Abigail then Thomas and Laura were second cousins. Not proof positive but I'm sure it will turn up some day.
