Carrier Family Genealogy Forum
My Carriers came from Broseley, Shropshire but one branch (not my direct branch) went to very near Wolverhampton.
They are as follows:-
25 Vine Street, Dudley
Oswald Carrier aged 46. Labourer in iron works. Born: Ludlow.
Caroline Carrier. Aged 39. Wife. Born: Dudley.
John W Carrier aged 17. Son.
Esther A Carrier aged 14 daughter.
Ellen Carrier aged 12 daughter.
James Lilley aged 80 father-in-law.
Sarah Lilley aged 79 mother-in-law.
The following are probably mine:-
35 Delph, Kingswinford, Brierley Hill (near Dudley).
Henry Carrier aged 69, stone mason, born Ludlow.
Charlotte Carrier aged 41 wife born London.
Henry W Carrier aged 19 son.
Edward g Carrier aged 17, son.
Julia Carrier aged 14 daughter.
Frederick Carrier aged 12 son.
Charlotte Carrier aged 10 daughter.
Rose Carrier aged 4 daughter.
Tilly (Matilda?) Carrier aged 5 daughter.
Winnie (Winifred?) Carrier aged 2.
Back in Broseley the 1851 census shows:-
John Carrier (my direct ancestor)(can't turn up details at present but he would have been born in 1811/12).
Louisa Carrier wife.
Ellen Carrier daughter born 1835 (my direct ancestor).
Louisa Carrier daughter.
Oswald Carrier (the one stated above), son.
Mary Ann Carrier, lodger, unmarried, born Broseley.
I am in contact with a descendant of Mary Ann and, in all other censuses, she gives Wolverhampton as her place of birth. However, extensive searches have failed to reveal her birth.
Could the above be relevant to you?
I look forward to hearing.
