I descend from the W John, JOhn Jr, Thomas, William H., Charles R., James W line and I can remember growing up in the '50s in southern Ohio about my grandparents (Chester & Nellie) talking about the "reformation" of the Church in KY, and the Campbell and Stone families being a very big part of that reformation. I also remember them talking about how my GGFather, James W was a member of the Church of Christ, and the turmoil around the splitting off, or dividing of the Church into the CoC and the Church of the Brethren. So, I always assumed that, among many religious beliefs of the Carrier Clan, certainly these two have their place in the Carrier history in the US. I also remember my parents telling me that the Carriers (early generations back to W John) had a lot blood ties to German families in France. I have nothing that can actually prove these "family remembrances around the fireplace", but merely remember hearing my parents talking to my Gparents when I was very young, in the early '50s.
