My grandfather's name was Walter Hamilton Carico from Stauton, Virginia. His father's name was Simeon Carricoffe. He always stated that they (he and his brothers shortened it to Carico) because of theiir nationality. He never stated what that was. Sorry but I can not find out any more information,Any persons that would know more information is all deceased. As far as my knowledge they resided in the Stauton, Virginia area.
