Evie Roberts Birdwell, Married to Elbert C. Birdwell. I have Evie as being born in 1888 and died in 1942. I Show a total of 8 siblings, counting William Andrew and Evie Roberts.

Father was Meriday Cornelius Roberts.
Mother was Elizabeth Christine Simmons. Just yesterday, I found the Simmons line going all the way back to the 1600's. It was interesting to note where some of the Simmons ancestors left wills in which they willed their slaves to their children.

I believe we have corresponded before, but I can't remember for the life of me which line it was for. It's very likely, however, that we do have more than one connection.

Do you have any information on William Andrew Roberts' ancestry beyond his father? I have absolutely nothing. No siblings, no parent information... nothing. I suspect that Meriday could have fought in the Civil War. Possibly his father or an older brother if there was one. While I'm interested in the lineage in and of itself, I'm extremely interested in putting together a list of my ancestors that fought in the civil war.

Thanks!
