What was the Q. in James Q. Carrico?

James Q. Carrico was born December 4,1792 in Kentucky the son of Vincent Carrico and Susannah Quick. He came to Missouri as a small child. He grew up in the NE part of St. Louis County. He married Matilda Weaver at St. Ferdinands Church on December 27,1814. About 1837 they moved to Benton County, Missouri with other members of Matilda's family. Some researchers show his middle initial as Quincy. I have examined many documents and have never seen anything but the initial. Quincy became much more popular after John Quincy Adams was President, which was after James Q.'s birth. I believe the Q. stood for Quick. Does anyone have proof of either?
