Benjamin Carrell/Carroll NC>KY>IN

I am looking for the parents of Benjamin Carroll/ell (the spelling changed in almost every census record). He was born 1811 in either NC or KY. In the 1850 Orange Co., IN census it says he was born in NC, in the 1860 census it says he was born in KY. We know he came from Ky to IN before 1832. There are records of his marriage to Sarah "Sally" Sinclair in 1832 in Orange Co., IN. His children's names are: Emaline, Joseph, John, Nancy, George, Elizabeth, James, Benjamin, Isaac, Abigail, Hickman, and Jane. If he named one of the first two boys after his father, then his father would be either George or John. In the same census records, there are the names of a Joseph, James, Patrick, and William Carroll. Joseph is also listed as born in KY per census. They are about the age that could indicate that they are siblings of his. Also, a Mary Carrell is listed with Josiah Charnes and Susannah. On further marriage records investigation, I find that Susannah's maiden name is Carroll. Susannah is listed as born in KY and Mary is listed as born in NC on the 1850 census which further leads me to believe that Mary is very possibly Benjamin's mother and Susannah his sister. Any help in this would be deeply appreciated!!!
