Carol, Do you know where your James Allen Carrell was from or who his parents are. I am descended from Columbia Catherine Carroll
m. Thomas P. Irion from AL. The original spelling was Carrell and like so many names the spelling was changed. There was one family of Carrell's/Carroll's that left AL and moved to Grandfield OK. Maybe there is a connection.
