The furthest I go back on my Carrell's is Timoth Carrell born about 1723 died December 5, 1786 buried at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery in Philadelhia. In 1762 Timothy Carrell subscribed L27, 12s, 6p to the building fund of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where he, his wife and two of his children are buried. In 1781 he subscribed to purchase of the old school-house and lot. He was on the list of pew-holders of St. Mary's Church from 1782 until his death. I would safely say he was Catholic. His grandson George Aloysius Carrell, S.J later became Bishop of Covington, KY.
