Hi Henrietta,
My James Madison Carroll/Carrell was supposidly born in Kentucky about March 7, 1829. My James was in the Washington Territory when he was 19 as the story was told.
My James married Christina Stock in 1854 Cowlitz County, Washington Territory. We have a copy of their marriage certificate.
In a later census out here in Washington Territory my James put that his father was born in Virginia. Too bad the census didn't ask for his fathers name, that would be too easy. We have no listings of siblings or parents names.
Any help would be greatly appreciated or any ideas of where to look.
Thank you,
Larry G. Carroll
