Martha CARRELL-1830-1900-Russell CoVA

1. On my 2G-Grandmother's death certificate her parents were listed as Martha CARRELL and John CULBERTSON. It is assumed that John and Mary were never married as he is shown with a wife and child in the 1850 Scott CoVA census.

2. Also in the 1850 Scott CoVA census there is a CARRELL household listed as Samuel, 7?, Polly 6?, Martha 21 and Mary age 1. This is the only CARRELL home in Scott County while there are about eleven in Russell CoVA.

3. In the 1860 census, Samuel and Polly have moved to Russell CoVA and are listed with only one other person in the household, Mary, age 11. (Mary is my 2G-grandmother.)

4. There is a new DYE family in the 1860 Russell CoVA census, headed by James L. DYE with wife Martha and several children the oldest of which is about 6. I suspect that this is Martha CARRELL DYE and that her parents were Samuel and Polly DYE. I suspect she married James DYE and left Mary to be raised by her parents Samuel and Polly.

Can anyone help me wih these folks. Can any one make a link to Samuel & Polly CARRELL or to James DYE?

Thanks, goodbays
