My Mom's name was Madeleine Carel (married Jean Martin). Her parents came from France. Her Dad, Jean-Louis Carel was from or near Saint-Nicholas des Eaux, close to Pontivy, in Brittany (La Bretagne). He married Mathurine LeBris who I think??? was from the Rouen area. I still have a great uncle living in Saint Nicholas, Roger Imadali and correspond with his daughter Elise who teaches in Paris. Does any of this fit in with your search?
