Somehow you skipped a step in saying you found James Caraway in the 1850 census and he had a son, James M.,born in 1863. My notes show the son, James, was born in 1836.(Maybe the numbers were reversed) I later identified him as James Henry, who died in Elmira Prison in 1864. Can you tell me more about the James M, his wife, and children, so we may be able to straighen this out.
