Arthur...You do know that Capt. Aaron Smith and Elizabeth Ann Carraway Smith, plus five of their nine child were massacred by the Cherokee Indians on July 01, 1776, don't you? They sold their property in NC, moved their family to South Carolina and had settled there not long before the Indian attack. It's possible that I can find Aaron's parents' names at the library. I saw something on Aaron recently. If you're still interested, e-mail me. Joanne
