I am researching a soldier who enlisted in the 26th Arkansas Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. He is:

John A. Carraway Co. B Sgt/Sgt
Enlisted 3 May 1862 at Monticello, Drew County, Arkansas; 50 miles from home as 3rd
Sergeant. Promoted 2nd Sergeant by Mar 1863. Promoted to 1st Sergeant by Jan 1864.
Admitted to General Hospital at Shreveport, Louisiana with neuralgia 28 Mar 1864. Sent to
hospital at Jefferson, Texas 6 Apr 1864. Admitted to General Hospital at Shreveport on 7 Apr
1865 with rheumatism. Returned to duty 28 Apr 1865. Age listed as 41 on 1860 Drew County
Census. Born in North Carolina.

I have no genealogical connection to this man but am writing a book on his regiment. Any help in learning his dates/places of birth, death, and burial would be greatly appreciated.
