Hello Rose, sorry I had not written sooner, my computer was damaged. My family Carrasquillo also came from Aguas Buenas. My grandfather name was Arcadio Carrasquillo Reyes (1862-1939). His father named was Eleuterio Carrasquillo (donít know the other surname). My father told me that that he heard that if he could look back in time there was someone with the surname Vergara in his Carrasquillo family. Arcadio was married to Sofia Guadarrama (or Guardarrama) Rosa. He had several brothers and sisters: Leonides (Nilde), Arciclo, Pedro, Zenda, Jovita, Fruta, Carmen y Saturnina. Any was Arcadio had several offsprings: Benigno, Jose Antonio and Juanita (Guane) and Rafael (my father), and other which died in their early years.
I guess we might be related because you mentioned the name Vergara. Perhaps Andres Carrasquillo Godon had a brother. Several years ago I was given information of the Carrasquillo from Yabucoa, but I think they are no related because I cannot find a link. Any way the first Carrasquillo from Yabucoa was named Pedro Carrasquillo Aranguren, he came from the Canary Islands to Puerto Rico aproximately in 1790. I once saw a copy of and old book in the Diodecis of San Juan with the inscription of a Carrasquillo aproximately 1650. If I find information which might related your Carrasquillo and my I will send it to you. Thank you for writing. Good luck. Rafael Carrasquillo Hernandez.
