CARRs / Nichols of GA, North Florida, Mississippi
I am trying to find a connection between the Carr family and Nichols families of GA, northern Florida, and Mississippi. These two families seem to migrate together and are found living close to each other from 1850 in Washington, FL and 1860 Smith, MS. Mrs. Mary A CARR (c1811 GA) is living with her daughters,Zilpha and Adaline, next door to John J. Nichols (1830 GA) and wife, Mary, in Wash. FLorida in 1860. I believe JJ Nichols to be the son of Elias Nichols (1790 SC) and Zilpha Nichols who lived in Wash. county, FL in 1850 but then moved west to Smith, MS where Zilpha (as Mrs. E. Nichols) is listed as living next door to Mrs. Lucresia Carr, wife of Isaac Carr (deceased).
Mary A Carr named a daughter Zilpha so I suspect she may be a daughter of Elias and Zilpha Nichols.
Does anyone know how these two families are related?
