Following is the part about Bryant from a very long article about black men from St. Charles, Illinois, written by U.S. Elliott and printed in the July 5, 1934 issue of the St. Charles Chronicle under the headline: Ex-Slaves Who Found St. Charles a Haven After the Civil War Then there was Bryant Carr, born a slave in "de fields of cotton country," came to St. Charles and became an expert paper maker in the machine room of the Brownell and Miller Paper Mill. Bryant had three sons, Elmer, Eugene and Todd. Also Mr. Carr had two or three daughters. elmer Carr lives in Chicago. Eugene recently died in Peoria, Ill., and was buried in our North cemetery. Todd still resides here in St. Charles. ------- Not related and have no further information,just posting from an old newspaper.
