Caleb Carr Governor of Rhode Island decendent

Merrill Carr who is my father is the third or forth Merrill of what I think is the western Mass line of the Carr family I also know that we are related to Caleb Carr who was Gov of Rhode Island in 1695. I wanted to know if anyone out there is related to our line. Let me know. I don't know that much about the Carr side of my ancestry It would be great to learn more about "Us". Thank You.
