Mary Elizabeth Carpenter Baker born 1852 died 1925, known to family as "Lizzie" was the daughter of Thomas and Phoebe(Tabor/Taylor) Carpenter. Thomas or Tom was the son of Willis and Elizabeth(Ross) Baker, Thomas's sister Francis would later married Absalom Perry Baker who is the father of Thomas Lewis Baker born 1846 died 1917, Lizzie's husband. Confused yet? Thomas Lewis Baker and Mary Elizabeth Carpenter were married in Madison County,Alabama on 6 Nov 1866. And their children were-

born 1874 died 1951
5)John William born 1876 died 1935, his tombstone says birthdate is 1879 death certificate says 1876 as do most census..this family settled in Ellis County,TX
6)Vitimus J."Issy" born 1877 it is known that he married around 1897 and was widowed by the 1900C after that he disappears.
7)Jestine Lewis Thomas born 1878 died 1954 and this is another family that moves to Texas.
8)Hester Ross born 1881 died 1897 buried in Baker C in OXR
9)Paul Delanore who at one time work in Maplehill Cemetary in Huntsville and at Merrimack Mills. born 1883 died 1966
10)Silas Charles born 1886 died 1897
11)Clarence Porter also worked at Merrimack born 1888 died 1953
12)Ella Belva Dora born 1892 died 1945
13)Nora S. Louise(twin) born 1895 died 1979
14)Zorah(twin) born 1895 died 1895 buried in Baker Cemetary in OXR
This isn't my line but Tom Baker was a half brother to my great grandfather George W. Baker and the wife of his eldest son, Allen was sister to my great grandfather, George W. Baker's wife Julia Maria Lyon.
The information above was gleaned from marriage records, census records, death notices, war records and draft cards, checking old newspapers and going to and looking through numerous cemetaries as well as checking the "Find a Grave" site.
