John Carpenter marr. Ann Connelley 1820 Holmesburg, PA
I am desperately trying to find information on this couple. I was told by a family member that there was a marriage license in a family Bible for JOHN CARPENTER and ANN CONNELLEY, married June 20, 1820, in Holmesburg, PA. As best as I can tell, Holmesburg is now an area of greater Philadelphia metro, so they may appear in census records from Philadelphia county. Also, Ann was probably a Quaker -- she is suspected of being the sister of my gr.gr.gr. grandfather, Levin M. Connelley, later known as Levin M. Connella, and he was a Quaker. Ann was probably born in Pennsylvania or possibly Baltimore or Chestertown, Maryland. I'm guessing her birthdate to be about 1802, but not sure. Levin was born in 1800 and was apparently orphaned by 1810. His father is supposed to have been McKeely/McKeelie Connelley/Connella, a Quaker in Pennsylvania.
Anything anybody might know or look up for me would be so appreciated. We've hit a years-long roadblock on Levin's family -- unable to find siblings, parents, etc. -- finding Ann Connelley Carpenter might help enormously!
Thanks!!!
