MARGARET CARPENTER, PASSAVANT HEALTH CENTER RESIDENT, DIES AT 93.Margaret S. Carpenter, 93, died Tuesday at the Passavant Health Center in Zelienople, where she was a resident.Born Dec. 5, 1897, in United, Westmoreland County, she was the daughter of John and Fannie Davis Tumilty.She was a housewife.Mrs. Carpenter was a member of the Seaman Memorial Chapel at Passavant Health Center.She was a member of the Eastern Star in Latrobe.Surviving are two sons, Donald S. Carpenter of Greenville and James B. Carpenter of Greensboro, S.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Wesley (Nancy) Armstrong of Poland, Ohio, Mrs. Harry (Betty) Struble of Venice, Fla., and Mrs. Leon (Florence) Porch of Nokomis, Fla.; a sister, Ethel Kurtz of Derry, Pa., a brother, Hubert "Pat” Tumilty of Idaho; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.She was preceded in death by her husband, Scott D. Carpenter, whom she married Feb. 20, 1920, and who died Jan. 5, 1989; four brothers and two sisters.
CARPENTER - Friends of Margaret S. Carpenter of Passavant Health Center, Zelienople, who died Tuesday, May 28, 1991, will be received at the Seaman Memorial Chapel, Passavant Health Center, on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Ralph Spear officiating.Burial will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Trauger.Arrangements by Boylan.
