I don't really know if Ward William died or not. His name comes from his grand parrents William Carpemter and Sally Ann Ward. The rest of the children are;

5 iv. Charles Theodore Carpenter, born 1840 in New York City, N. Y..He married Alice G. Thompson; born 1840.
6 v. George Edward Carpenter, born 1841 in Ashford (now Ardsly).
7 vi. Susan Elizabeth Carpenter, born 1841.
8 vii. Emmy Louise Carpenter, born 1843.She married Amos S. RATHBORNE; born 1843.
9 viii. Frances Carpenter, born 1846.
10 ix. Harriet Carpenter, born 1848.
11 x. Josephine Frances Carpenter, born October 25, 1858; died June 09, 1924 in Terrytown, N. Y..She married Homer Randal Frost, February 09, 1888 in Terrytown, N. Y.; born September 1857; died October 1935 in Roundout, New York, USA.
