I am happy to have this resolved.Since
neither of these Henry Carpenters are mine,
I was and am only interested as a by-stander.
As for the IGI, I always thought it's info
had to be documented, whereas the Ancestral
File is not.
Just before I made my original post, I saw
an error on the IGI regarding my Gr-
grandmother's marriage.It has her marriage
date correct, but married to Henry P.
Carpenter who I later learned was a son of
Sylvanus Carpenter,That Henry died as a
young man and my Henry lived to old age in
Iowa. That's what prompted me to post the
two Henrys with (some of) the same children.
For the record, I am looking for a Henry
Carpenter b. 1811 NY d. 1885 IA.His father
may have been a Henry Carpenter b. 1779.
Any help appreciated.
Helen
