Robert Carothers and Margaret White Carothers were my 3rd great-grandparents. This is the Robert who is the son of Hugh Carothers and Sarah Purviance. I have the following children for them. Some of this I have source records on and some I don't.
Hugh (born bet 1761-1764) married Martha Irwin
Samuel (born bet 1763-1766) married Jane Looney
James born abt 1766-67 married 1st Margaret Stewart,
2ndJane Irwin - he died abt 18 May 1811 in Sumner Co.,
TN
Williamborn bet 1767-1770, died abt 18 sept 1814 in Sumner Co., TNI don't think he ever married.
Margaret (Peggy) born bet 1769-1772 died abt 24 Apr 1814
Sumner Co., TN(never married)
Maryborn 1771-1774 married James Scott
Sarah born 1773-1776died abt Jun 1819, will is in name of Carothers and shows no spouse or children.
Jane "Jenny" born 14 Dec 1777, married David Wilson, Jr., died bet 1830-1835 in Sumner Co., TN or bet 1835-1840 in Carroll Co., TN.You will see a death date given as Oct 1845 in Petersburg, Marshall Co., TN in a lot of family trees on line, but that is not correct. This was my GGGrandmother.David, Jr. married a second time in Carroll Co. in 1844 and there was no divorce or any other reason why Jenny would have been in Marshall County in 1845. In 1840 census, David is in Carroll Co. with two young sons still at home and two unmarried daughters and no female of the age to be Jenny.
Thomas born bet 1778=1781 married Sarah "Sally" Holland 24 Oct 1804 in Sumner Co., TN
Ezekial Carothers born bet 1779-1782 married Christina Hubbard
Esther Carothers born bet 1781=1784 married George Logan 10 Jan 1810 in Sumner Co., TN
