I just came across your post. I recently spent an afternoon in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point photographing family tombstones. I did come across John and Susan Carothers' stones near the front gates. That's all I have to offer you. I did not photograph them, but noted their presence since I was looking for my Carothers ancestors. My grandmother was Nell Carothers Coleman. Her father was James Stuart Carothers whose father was James Neely Carothers.

Sorry I don't have more to offer.
