James war of 1812, John & William Carothers Arkansas

James Carothers obtained land in Arkansas which was claimed by William Carothers and other heirs of James. This property was in what became St Francis County, Arkansas.

Where were they before and ancestors?? They always spelled the name Carothers.

John and William were both on the 1830 census.
1830 US Census, St. Francis Co., AR; Page 39:
John Carothers: 1-Male under 5; 2-Male (15-20); 1-Male (20-30); 1-Male (40-50); 2-Female (10-15); 1-Female (40-50)
Willam on same page with no other occupants of household.

John was on tax list for late 1820s. Newspaper article for 1837 finds. John Carothers accidently killed by his son Robert.

1840 Census shows Levina Carothers in the place of John for the 1830 census. On the same page William and Robert R. Miller who is married to Pamelia Caroline Carothers daugther of John Carothers.

If anyone has any clues to these families it would be most helpful as the St Francis records before 1865 were burned.

Thanks,
Anne Wilson
