James Carothers of Jessamine Ky Family Line

Carothers Researchers,
I am submitting this compilation of the family line of James Carothers based on various web postings, family letters in my possession, and my personal research at various libraries and in Jessamine Co Ky...it is subject to your scrutiny...please use this as a basis of comment and discussion for all to profit from...

James Carothers was born ca 1753 (per Rev War documents) and d ca 1835 in Jessamine Co Ky near Keene (the Jessamine Co Ky Historical Society is planning to place a Rev War Historical marker at site of James' grave in summer 2005)...James is listed as James Corathers (sic) on pg. 59 of 1810 Jessamine Census with 1M10-16,2M16-26, 1M>45, 1F10-16, 1F16-26...James is listed as James Corether (sic) on 1820 Jessamine Census with 1M16-26, 1M>45, 1F16-26. James is listed in "History of Jesamine County Kentucky" as a founder of Clear Creek Presbyterian Church in 1829.

NOTES ON SAMUEL: both he and Mary are
buried in Keene Cemetery. Samuel was the
last heir of James b 1753 to live on the
home place near Keene. Samuel died
childless in 1916 and had deeded the
home place to two ladies who had agreed
to care for him in his old age.
