Hi Robert, My Carothers show up in the 1860 Antis Twp. Blair Co. Pa. Census, thus;

William Carothers..........40 my gg.gramp
Anne Carothers.............30 my gg.gram
Joseph Erb Carothers.......11 my g.gramp
Jacob Carothers............09
Margaret Carothers.........07
Robert Carothers...........05
Elvira(Elmira) Carothers...04
Jackson Carothers..........8/12
Joseph above was my g.grampap b. 1849 and
m. 1867, Alice Kephart from Decatur Twp Clearfield Co. Their children were John F.
Harry Luther, Bertha Alice & Elizabeth Mae & they resided in Osceola Mills. Joseph was very young but served in the Civil War. He d.Apr 21,1880; not quite 31 yrs old.
I believe Wm had John & other brothers & sisters in the surrounding Co's.Would like to hear more abt.your line or from any other Carothers. Dottie(Carothers)Cote
