I have a possible brother to William, for what it is worth. Samuel KERNEY b. 20 Apr 1763, lived much of his life in Upper Mt. Bethel Twp., Northampton Co., PA. By the time he died in Cambria, Niagra Co., NY he went by CARNEY. His children were John, William, Joseph, Hannah, David, Walter etc. I really don't know anything about Samuel's family, we're stumped, but this could be a connection. I would be glad to give you a good reference if you are interested.
