Hello Maureen
My grandfather Michael Carney emigrated to England in 1891. He was the son of Patrick and Mary Carney (nee Corcoran), both born in 1850's,from Castlebar Co Mayo which is near Claremoris. There could be a relationship although Carney was and still is a common name in Co Mayo.
